Beginners Team Dev Academy: Doubleheader! C++ and Python on September 25th

The Beginners Team Dev Academy has really jumped in to hosting Classroom sessions with both feet! Tomorrow, Saturday 25th, we will be hosting TWO sessions on programming from this team, one on C++ and our second on Python.

First, at 15:00 UTC we welcome Diego Turcios (DiegoTc) for a “C++ for Beginners” class.

Then at 17:00 UTC we’re proud to welcome back Pedro Mendes (pedro3005) for his second Python class (logs from the first, on September 18th, can be found here).

Both of these classes will be held in #ubuntu-classroom on irc.freenode.net (#ubuntu-classroom-chat for questions).

Packaging Training: UDD intro + Q&A

On September 23, at 0800 UTC, james_w will be taking a class about UDD and taking questions about that process.  The session will take place in #ubuntu-classroom on irc.freenode.net.  We have embraced UDD this cycle and I’m sure it would be a starting point for new contributors and a place to ask questions. However, in case you are unable to attend, logs will be available after the session.

Also, please do not forget to check out the logs from some of our other Packaging Training Sessions. They are great references for both the new and veteran packager.

Beginners Dev Academy: Introduction to Python

In the first of what we hope will be many Beginners Dev Academy classes, on Saturday, September 18th at 17:00 UTC we welcome Pedro Mendes to #ubuntu-classroom on irc.freenode.net to deliver an Introduction to Python class.

Thanks to Pedro and the Beginners Dev Academy for stepping up to do this class, Python is a popular language within the Ubuntu community and there are always folks asking for classes.

Packaging Training: Packaging Without Compilation

Two, weeks ago, Stefano Rivera gave a great session about some of the sponsoring tools in ubuntu-dev-tools. Now, in a few hours, at 04:00 UTC on September 16, Emmet Hikory will be leading our next Packaging Training Session about Packaging Without Compilation. The session will take place in #ubuntu-classroom on irc.freenode.net. This is sure to be a great session that you will not want to miss. However, in case you are unable to attend, logs will be available after the session.

Also, please do not forget to check out the logs from some of our other Packaging Training Sessions. They are great references for both the new and veteran packager.

Packaging Training: The sponsoring tools in ubuntu-dev-tools

Sponsoring packages can be a very time-consuming task. On 2nd September, 15:00 UTC in #ubuntu-classroom on irc.freenode.net, Stefano Rivera will be leading a Packaging Training session about how you can utilize the sponsoring tools in ubuntu-dev-tools to make this task faster and easier. Logs will be available following the session. I hope to see you all there!
